Princeton is home to some of New Jersey’s best restaurants and The Peacock Inn is no exception. The restaurant is the perfect place to celebrate special occasions. Dining here is truly an experience especially if you elect to try the five course tasting menu.
The Peacock Inn’s summer menu is unique and the chef utilizes only the finest and freshest ingredients available, most of which are from local farms. The restaurant is open for dinner daily and offers a special brunch menu on Sundays. Although diners can certainly choose one or two items off the regular dinner menu, the five course tasting menu at The Peacock Inn is the best way to fully experience all that the restaurant has to offer.
Each course on the tasting menu is elegantly presented and incorporates complex flavors. Come hungry because the portions are generous. From the unique way the chef prepares the first course of tuna tartare to the fourth course of incredibly crispy five spiced duck breast, each course showcases the freshness of the ingredients. Although I enjoyed each course in it’s own right, my personal favorites were the seared scallops, the ricotta gnocchi and the sticky toffee cake for dessert. The toffee cake is served warm with vanilla ice cream and is the perfect ending to an incredible meal.
The tasting menu costs $91 per person and is well worth it. It’s an experience you won’t forget. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and can also recommend wine pairings for you. The bar opens at 5pm daily and offers an extensive wine list as well as a number of unique specialty cocktails that pair well with the menu.
The menu changes seasonally to reflect what is freshest in the region.
