Season three of 'The Walking Dead' reveals answers to two mysteries

"The Walking Dead" is AMC's popular zombie apocalypse TV series that is in its third season. Shown Sunday night at 9 p.m., highest rated show. It's the only cable TV show to have ever beaten the networks, ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX.

During the first three seasons the show has been exciting, scary and mysterious. The mystery started in the first season when Merle Dixon (Michael Rooker) was handcuffed to a pipe and left for dead. However, Rick, who was still in his right mind, went back to save Merle. But, Merle was almost completely gone. The hand that was handcuffed was lying on the roof sans the rest of the body. The door that had been chained shut, was still chained, indicated that Merle didn't get eaten.

Merle was seen in season two only in a hallucination that Daryl Dixon (Normal Reedus) had when he had been injured and was delusional. That was the end of Merle until season three started and Andrea and Michonne were taken to Woodbury. Merle was there and was just as nasty as ever. One big mystery solved.

The second mystery also started in season one. Spoiler alert for the episode shown March 3, 2013.

After Rick woke up in the hospital and found that the whole world had gone to hell, Morgan Jones (Lennie James) rescues him and nurses him back to health. Rick left Morgan with a walkie talkie and the promise to turn it on every morning and Rick did. Last nights' episode, March 3, 2013, revealed what happened to Morgan. He never got out of the small town of King County, Ga. He also is completely nuts. His son, Ben (Tyler Chase), was killed by the zombie that was his mother. The irony of that situation is that Morgan was unable to put her down when he had a chance in the first season.

There is actually one more mystery that was solved last season.

In the first season of "TWD," a scientist at the CDC whispered something into Rick's ear. The internet was almost blown up with fans throwing out ideas in forums and blogs. Last season the question was answered. The Dr. told Rick that no matter how you die, you reanimate. Someday, the last human will die and the only people on earth will be zombies.

"The Walking Dead" has been renewed for a fourth season. Maybe there will be more mysteries to be solved in later seasons.
