Season's Beatings: 2009 Magic holiday card

According to the December Magic: the Gathering Newsletter, Season's Beatings (pictured to the left) is the 2009 Magic holiday card Season's Beatings.

Season's Beatings costs four red mana, is a Sorcery, and has the following text: "Family gathering - Each creature target player controls deals damage equal to its power to another random creature that player controls."

Some people abhor holiday get-togethers with their families, and Season's Beatings certainly takes stab at that fact with it's flavor text: "Arriving home, he suddenly longed for the bloodsoaked battlefields behind him."

No matter how you may personally feel about family get-togethers, Season's Beatings is sure to find a home in many players casual decks, and cause laughter upon each casting.

Over the past few years, Wizards of the Coast has sent out other funny promotional cards to store owners as a "thank you."  View this slideshow to see the other Magic holiday cards, Fruitcake Elemental, Gifts Given, and Evil Presents.

With Christmas on it's way, be sure to check out Holiday Gifts for Magic: the Gathering Players so that your mana-tapping friends and family members will get something to enjoy.
