The Gap, based in San Francisco, Ca, has launched their Season of Giving campaign. Gap’s Season of Giving Campaign is centered around the three types of gift giving this holiday season; gifts to ourselves, gifts to others and donations to charity.
From Gap: "Gap has a long history of giving back to others, and we know making a difference in the world is extremely important to our customers too," said Marka Hansen, president of Gap North America. "As we thought about what holiday looked like this year at Gap, we knew we wanted to be the destination for the season's most coveted pieces while also creating something meaningful for our customers to participate in. The personalities in our campaign support a wide range of causes, and we're giving everyone a chance to give back to those causes this holiday season."
Gap has created several videos for the Season of Giving campaign featuring celebrities such as Lauren Bush, actor Reeve Carney, style blogger Susie Bubble and dancer Benjamin Millepied. In each video, the speaker will talk about the charity that they support while wearing Gap items that would make great gifts.
From Gap: “Featured on Gap's Facebook Fan page, YouTube channel, and on Gap.com, fans can check out the videos and then join in the spirit of giving by "liking" them. Each time a video is "liked," Gap will give a $1 donation to the charity featured in that video, up to $150,000. Plus, fans will get something in return – 30 percent off one regularly priced item for themselves.”
Some of the featured charities in Gap’s Season of Giving campaign include FEED Projects, City of Hope, Camp Interactive, Community Connections, Women for Women International, Good for Goods, Shelter England, Partnership for the Homeless and the Baryshnikov Arts Center.
