The ninth season of the long-running hit ABC medical drama "Grey's Anatomy" premiered Netflix over the Labor Day weekend, allowing you to catch up before the tenth season premiere on September 26.
"Grey's Anatomy" revolves around a massive cast, with Ellen Pompeo playing the title role. Over the years, Katherine Heigl won an Emmy for her work, with Chandra Wilson and Sandra Oh receiving multiple nominations. The show has also starred Patrick Dempsey, Eric Dane, T.R. Knight, Isaiah Washington (who was famously fired from the show) and many more.
The show was a ratings success from the start, consistently ranking in the Nielsen Top 10 since its inception. While the show has consistently been one of the highest-earning shows on television, "Grey's Anatomy" has also received critical acclaim, receiving twenty-five Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series nominations in 2006 and 2007.
The show was the first hit drama created by Shonda Rhimes, who would go on to produce the "Grey's Anatomy" spin-off "Private Practice" as well as the recent hit show "Scandal", which had its most recent season debut on Netflix Instant last week.
Thanks to Netflix, viewers can catch up with many of the best shows on television before they return to broadcast.
