Season 6 “Face Off” winner Rashaad Santiago joins the line of up of shiny activities at the second annual Myths and Legends Convention. As a self-taught makeup artist Rashaad has made his dreams come true. With his father's support as inspiration he has gained expertise in sculpting, molding and application. There will be make-and-take style panels as well as other awesome activities and discussions with local authors and experts. For those gaming enthusiasts, there is a room scheduled for drop in board gaming. Also new for 2014 is the Play and Win program where attendees can win board games. Along with Santiago, will be The Kilted Man, and storyteller Tomas O’Dreams, editorial Guest of Honor Peter J Wacks, and Musical Guest of Honor Pandora Celtica. This fun weekend long party is set for Aug 8-10, 2014, and will take place at the Ramada Plaza North in Northglenn, CO.
Is that cosplay outfit finished yet? Just imagine the cosplay possibilities with layer cake dresses, shiny captains, doctors, vampire slayers, wizards, and maybe a Jon Snow or two. There will be panel rooms where fans can discuss the many facets of the various fandoms, interactive all-ages activities, as well as a gaming room. The fun-filled schedule is still being finalized, but some the main events are already up. Fri. night is the Browncoat Shindig, Sat. afternoon is the Wizards Ball, Game of Thrones themed murder mystery Sat nigh. Sun morning, con-goers will awaken to a Hobbit Second Breakfast, and Sunday the convention ends with a fun and lighthearted Grand Galloping Gala.
What makes this event unique is that it focuses on a handful of fandoms, and for "Doctor Who" and Joss Whedon fans, this convention is really something special. This cozy get together will focus on all the sci-fi and fantasy goodness such as “Harry Potter,” “Doctor Who,” “Firefly,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Lord of the Rings,” “My Little Pony,” and added this year, “Game of Thrones.”
