Every season the cast for “Dancing with the Stars,” the ABC reality competition where celebs are paired with professional ballroom dancers and try to win the highly coveted mirrorball trophy never ceases to amaze us. As usual the show’s cast consists of stars from various genres of entertainment from television to sports, film and reality television. This morning the 12 member cast was revealed on ABC's "Good Morning America'.
Ousted CBS talk show host and “King of Queens” actress Leah Remini will be strutting across the dance floor. Remini was an original host of the CBS talk-fest “The Talk,” however she was replaced in second season by comedienne Sheryl Underwood. The “Jersey Shore’s” Nicole Polizzi better known as “Snookie” secured her spot on the season 17 cast. “Glee” star Amber Riley won’t be singing, but she’ll hopefully be gracefully gliding across the ballroom floor. Former child star Elizabeth Berkley from “Saved by the Bell” and NFL veteran Keyshawn Johnson will also be paired with professional partners.
The other celebs making up the season 17 cast of Dancing with the Stars include, "Pretty Little Liars" star Brant Daugherty, singer and actress Christina Milian, Saturday morning kid’s favorite Bill Nye the Science Guy, "High School Musical" star Corbin Bleu, Reality TV star and son of Ozzie and Sharon; Jack Osbourne, Comedian Bill Engvall and 74 year old actress Valerie Harper who was diagnosed earlier this year with terminal brain cancer. Harper appeared on “Good Morning America” during the cast reveal. Her cancer is close to being in remission and she is hoping to “buy a little more time.”
Season 17 of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” kicks off with a slightly different schedule, starting September 16 at 8 p.m. the show will air once a week.
