Authorities have just released a photo of a man that they suspect might be tied to the Arizona shooting in front of a Safeway store in Tuscon on Saturday.
Police want to talk to the man as part of their investigation. The shooting resulted in the deaths of 6 and the wounding of 14 others. The shooter walked up to Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, who was holding her first "Congress at Your Corner" event and shot her in the head and then randomly began shooting others, ended with the deaths of 6 and the wounding of 14 others.
The other man that is being sought for questioning is described as Caucasian, 40-50 years old with dark hair (see pic). He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a dark blue jacket.
The Pima County Sheriff's Dept. has released the names of those killed: U.S. District Judge John Roll, 63, Dorwin Stoddard, 76, Gabriel Zimmerman, 30, Dorothy Morris, 76, Phyllis Schneck, 79 and Christina Greene, who was one of 50 babies born on 9/11/01 and is the granddaughter of former Philadelphia Phillies Manager Dallas Green.
Giffords is listed in critical condition. Gifford has ties to San Diego as she worked at the University of San Diego in 1995 with a group called San Diego Dialogue, and with the San Diego branch of the American Friends Service Committee in the mid '90s, and as a researcher studying the effects of Operation Gatekeeper in San Ysidro.
In a joint statement by the heads of San Diego’s Republican and Democratic parties reads, "We must not allow cowards who seek to address political differences with violence to threaten our commitment to the principles of our democracy. In San Diego, we stand together Saturday and say that violence has no place in politics, not here, and never again."
Jared Lee Loughner, 22, is currently in custody for the shooting. People described Loughner as a pot-smoking loner. The Army said he tried to enlist in December 2008 but was rejected and would not disclose the reason.
Anyone who knows the identity of the individual in the photo is asked to contact 911, 88-CRIME or the Federal Bureau of Investigation at (520) 791-6974.
