Matrice Richardson (Family photo)
Continued from Part 1 of Matrice's story
Leo Terrell, a civil rights attorney representing the family, said “If Mitrice Richardson’s name was Spears or Lohan, they would have escorted her home… It’s a double standard.”
Terrell also alleged that the sheriff’s department has been slow determining who Mitrice called when she used the telephone twice at the station. According to Steven Eguchi, a detective with the Los Angeles Police Department, Mitrice’s calls have yet to be traced.
A search took place involving park rangers, sheriff’s department, and other agencies, using dogs and aerial units, in an attempt to find Mitrice shortly after she was reported missing.
The next day a witness called the sheriff’s station informing them that a woman, fitting Mitrice’s description, was seen sitting on a residential porch in the Monte Nido area of Malibu, which increased the intensity of the search.
A subsequent search conducted on Sept. 26 yielded no further information.
Mitrice’s mother said “It will forever be my mistake that I didn’t pick up my daughter at 11:59 p.m.” She said by the time she contacted the station at about 4:30 a.m., Mitrice had been gone for over three hours.
Mitrice is described as a 5-foot-5, 125-pound African American woman with hazel brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a brown Bob Marley T-shirt and blue jeans. She has tattoos on her lower abdomen and behind her neck. Anyone with information about her whereabouts should contact Detective Kristin Merrill with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit at (213) 485-5381, Latice Sutton at (909) 282-9134 or Michael Richardson at (310) 283-4717.

Questions:
Did she go to the resturant herself?
If so, why would someone with a 4.0 GPA.. wait, why would a Black female, with a 4.0 GPA go to a resturant in Malibu with the intent of not paying the tab? What does the mom mean? Was she one of those undetermined phone call? If so, shame on you mom. This sista was left out there without a pot to, well you know the cliche'. The girl may have been acting like an ass that night, but the police should have known better than to allow her to leave, basically naked with no clothes. This whole story, the police, the so-called reports I have read, sucks. Over what? A $89 bill and Herb.

what a horrible thing to have to experience for her as well as for the family. we can only pay that this scholar no matter the color makes her way back to her love ones soon. where is the humanity ????im jobless and if i knew that she was in that state i would have tried to her pay something on her bill or maybe offered her a ride....talkin to the group of people she conversed with.....and SHAME ON THE POLICE DEPT we look to you to protectus ....u do know that right!!!!!!!!!MAY GOD BLESS US ALL.
Sounds like a police cover to me!
Was she possibly drugged at the restaurant with date rape drug like rohypnol - which would explain her out-of-character behavior before the police took her into custody. Was she possibly sexually assaulted and disappeared by parties that are benefiting from the lack of cohesion in the police's story? Is it possible that someone in the department is complicit in her disappearance? So many questions.....
I saw this story on the news. It sounds to me like she could have been drugged. 4.0 student, pursuing a doctoral degree, etc. doesn't sound like a irresponsible person in the least (though we all or most of us do silly stuff or one time or another). Being disoriented, speaking gibberish, not paying a tab, wondering off in the night in a unfamiliar area and not being able contact someone upon release just doesn't sound right. This is a recent graduate who probably has tons of friends and acquaintances not to mention family. Are you telling me she couldn't track anyone down? Or was she so impaired she couldn't remember frequently dialed numbers or worse couldn't even dial them? This is truly horrible. An update would be nice forget the boy in the balloon crap.
