Posey, an American pitbull terrier, disappeared from her family’s backyard on October 27, 2011. She dug under the fence to escape and was last seen running down Covemont Drive toward Governor’s Drive (also known as Highway 431) in Huntsville, Alabama.
Owners Nate and Mandee Stearns immediately placed flyers throughout the city. They hope someone will recognize Posey and lead them to her location. Someone along Drake Avenue is removing flyers, so volunteers are focusing their search efforts in this area.
Posey is a medium sized pitbull with a reddish brown coat, black nose (that looks dark brown in some lighting situations) and a white ches. She weighs about 40 pounds. Her face and body are a bit slimmer than most other pitbulls, even though she is a registered American pitbull terrier.
If you have any information about the disappearance or the location of Posey, please contact her pack leaders Nate at 256-468-1929 or Mandee at 256-533-2623. Family and friends are offering a reward of $500 for information on her location and safe return.
To keep updated on Posey, please join her Facebook page at "Bring Posey Home." With nearly 1,000 members who love her dearly, the hope is that Posey will soon be found and returned to her family.
Although Posey may not seem like a typical rescue to some, she is very much in need of rescue and return to her family who love and miss her dearly.
