An event organized on Facebook brought family, friends and volunteers together on Dec. 14, 2013, to pass out 5000 flyers in the continued search for Crystal Friedman. The 28-year-old mother was at Natal's Lounge on Sunday night; upon leaving the bar she went to Red Fish Trading, a convenience store across the street and has not been seen since.
Crystal's family knew something was wrong when there were no texts or phone calls from her by Monday morning. They said it was not like her not to come home or call, especially with her 3-year-old son.
The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office and Crystal's family began asking for help in finding her through social media and by putting flyers up in the area with the following description.
- Age: 28
- Height: 5'2
- Weight: 165
- Hair: long dirty-blonde
- Eyes: blue
- Vehicle: 2011 silver Hyundai Sanota 4-door sedan
- License plate: Louisiana VIH-727
Authorities investigating Crystal's disappearance say her bar tab at Natal's indicates she purchased a variety of alcoholic beverages before she left. Investigators have also obtained surveillance camera footage of Crystal at the convenience store. According to the store records, Crystal purchased a pint of alcohol, cigarettes and food. She can then be seen getting into her car and driving away. The footage shows Friedman driving south towards the Highway 11 bridge at 11:49 p.m.
"We still need your help and we are not going to stop until we find our sister," said Crystal's sister Tiffani Carr. "We are not going to stop until we get her home."
Authorities have also learned that Crystal Friedman had expressed interest in going to Crazy Al's, a bar on the south shore of Lake Pontchartrain near Fort Pike.
The search for Crystal Friedman has been extended to the south shore and the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office is working with multiple law enforcement agencies in the investigation of her disappearance.
On Friday, St. Tammany authorities began checking Lake Pontchartrain with marine division boats equipped with side-scan sonar devices. The Sheriff's Office helicopter is also being used to search the lake from above and at areas on the north and south shores which are not easy accessible by vehicle.
Anyone with any information about the disappearance of Crystal Friedman or who may have seen her late Sunday night early Monday is asked to call 911. The Friedman family can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
