Mr. Hand would be proud! Just days after her own birthday pic made headlines, Madonna posted a fun photo of her 14-year-old son Rocco in what appears to be a tribute to her ex, Sean Penn’s, birthday.
On Tuesday, ET Canada posted an Instagram shot that Madge posted in honor of her ex-husband’s 54th birthday. The picture features Rocco dressed in a shortie Hawaiian shirt with a dazed and confused look on his face. The spot-on caption reads: "Jeff Spicoli is alive and well in the South of France! #boom #fuzzy"
Jeff Spicoli was Sean Penn’s iconic surfer character in Amy Heckerling’s 1982 big screen comedy “Fast Times at Ridgemont High.” In case you're a bit confused, Rocco is the son of Madonna’s other ex-husband, Guy Ritchie, not Sean Penn. So it’s an interesting pic to say the least, but it hints that the exes must be on good terms these days.
This isn’t the first time Madonna’s oldest son has been a star in one of her Instagram posts. Earlier this year, she posted a pic of Rocco in the boxing ring, but she was slammed for including a racial slur in the caption. She later apologized for the careless caption, but this snafu came just weeks after the Grammy winner caused controversy for sharing shared an Instagram pic of her underage son holding a bottle of Bombay gin, alongside two young-looking pals holding vodka bottles. The caption for that doozy: "The party has just begun! Bring it! 2014."
Madonna is definitely known for her interesting Instagram offerings, and sometimes she is even the subject. Last week, the 56-year-old singer made headlines when she posted a birthday pic of herself dressed in 1920s garb standing next to a topless woman. Instagram removed the explicit photo, according to Billboard, but a vintage topless shot of the Queen of Pop remains, albeit with some glowing light touch-up work to stay in line with social media site’s nudity policies.
