The recent fictitious rantings of Wyclef Jean regarding Sean Penn, just adds evidence to the point that he would not had made a very good president for the country of Haiti. Jean's run for president was thankfully cut short because he did not make the residency requirements that are needed to be voted into that position. After the way he verbally attacked Sean Penn, we got a good look of what this almost presidential candidate would bring to such an important seat . It did not look good.
Sean Penn, who has done nothing but worked hard to better the country of Haiti, was targeted by Jean with vicious rumors. Jean sang a song about Sean Penn using cocaine, which is a totally false statement.
Sean Penn, acting much more like a gentleman than Jean, rises above these rumors and does not take to any type of vicious verbal retaliation. I was contacted by Sean Penn's representative personally and asked to convey his statement:
“Mr. Jean is clearly unfamiliar with the physical demands put upon volunteers in Haiti. As aid workers there, the notion of depleting the body’s immune system thru the use of illicit drugs is ludicrous. More specifically, J/P Haitian Relief Organization (a.k.a. JPHRO) has a ZERO tolerance policy for any and all illegal drugs. As the leader of this organization, Sean Penn has not only set this policy, but adheres to it. That Mr. Jean would make such a false accusation is reckless and saddening, but not surprising.”
No, not surprising at all. It saddens me to think that a man who has the ear of the nation of Haiti, would misuse this power for his own childish and selfish vessel to make such a horrendous statement about Penn, who is working to help this same country.
"The rumors that Wyclef Jean started about Sean Penn really did nothing more than to make Jean look bad, no one would believe this of Penn with the way he has been working hard for the people of Haiti", said a Connecticut woman who calls herself "Sean Penn's biggest fan". "So Jean's strategy backfired, he looked like an idiot for starting these rumors."
