Sean Lowe and Desiree Hartsock had an undeniable connection since the beginning of season 17 of ‘The Bachelor.’ She quickly became a favorite contestant of not only the bachelor himself, but also the viewers. The 26-year-old bridal stylist came across as relatable and sincere, and as the likely lady for Sean. However, he sent her home after a hometown date gone wrong, much to fan’s dismay. During the ‘After the Rose’ special though, it was announced that Des will be the next bachelorette. She was the viewer’s choice, and Sean’s, as he had previously voiced. Now that Des has officially been unveiled as the new leading lady, a People report dated Wednesday, March 13, further revealed Sean's reaction and thoughts about Des' upcoming spotlight role.
'The Bachelor' is clearly happy for his old flame.
“They couldn’t have chosen a better Bachelorette,” Lowe tells People.
“I’ve said from the beginning, my vote was always for Des. She’s America’s sweetheart, and I think she’s going into it with sincere intentions,” continued the former Bachelor.
Lowe admitted during the “Women Tell All” special that he received a lot of backlash for sending home the likable brunette. Nonetheless, she remained in good spirits, and still had a very positive attitude towards the man who sent her packing.
“I absolutely got torn to shreds in social media when I sent her home. America voiced their opinion. They really love her! And I think it’s because she’s so sweet and so sincere. I think she’ll do a great job,” said Lowe.
