On Oct. 14, TV By the Numbers and ABC announced a first ever for “The Bachelorette” and “The Bachelor” – a live telecast of a real wedding. That’s right, Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici, who met and fell in love during the last season of “The Bachelor,” will exchange their “I do’s” live on national TV. “The Bachelor: Sean and Catherine’s Wedding” will air on Sunday, Jan. 26 from 8-10 p.m. EST on ABC.
Sean and Catherine got engaged in beautiful, exotic Thailand at the finish of Sean’s 17th edition of “The Bachelor." During the live wedding special, viewers will get to enjoy all of the festivities, from planning their big day to the romantic ceremony. Past “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” couples and participants will be on the guest list to help Sean and Catherine celebrate their union. They join Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter, Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney, and Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenberg as the fourth couple in franchise history to marry.
Sean and Catherine’s love story has come full circle at last. Sean began his quest for love by being one of the favorites to capture Emily Maynard’s heart on the eighth edition of “The Bachelorette." He narrowly missed his goal to find his soulmate when Emily, who all season long called him the “perfect man," made him the last bachelor eliminated before the finale. It completely blindsided Sean, who finally had been able to admit to Emily that he was in love with her. But when it was his chance to hand out the roses, Sean became smitten with Catherine and proposed. To re-watch his proposal, be sure to watch the video above and to the left.
Sean and Catherine are currently living separately in Dallas and are waiting to move in together after they are married. They are looking forward to setting up their own home and starting a family once they begin their life as man and wife.
Catherine Giudici, 27-year-old marketing executive from Seattle, won the heart of not only Sean Lowe, but also the hearts of America. Social media sites like Twitter and Facebook immediately lit up like fireworks over Thailand right after Sean’s proposal. Below were a few of the thousands of posts.
