Sean Hayes couldn't save the world but he will be moving in with "The Millers" this fall. Hayes is joining the CBS sitcom as a series regular when the show returns in October for its second season. According to TV line, Hayes will play a character named Kip Withers who is best friends with Carol Miller. His constant presence at the home she shares with Nathan Miller played by Will Arnett will be a point of contention.

Hayes is coming off the disappointment of his cancelled series "Sean Saves the World." The sitcom was Hayes' big return to Thursday nights on NBC since he starred on "Will and Grace." He played the role of Jack McFarland and won an Emmy award for his portrayal. However, the series suffered from poor ratings and according to Hayes was not promoted well by the network and was ultimately cancelled after one season.

Hayes has recently appeared on television in "American Dad" and "Smash" and on the big screen in "Monsters University". He's also the creator and executive producer of "Hollywood Game Night."

"The Millers" averaged almost 10 million viewers leading into its first season finale and stars Will Arnett, Margo Martindale and Beau Bridges. The premise of the show is a brother and sister played by Arnett and Jayma Mays who are forced to have their parents move in with them after they separate. The comedy was the most watched new comedy on CBS' lineup.

Hayes' character will make his debut on "The Millers" second season premiere airing on Thursday October 30th on CBS, Cox Cable Channel 7.
