Bahamas--- Actor Sean Connery who celebrates his landmark 80th birthday on Wednesday, says his acting days are over.

The former James Bond star told Britain's Daily Record newspaper,"I don't think I'll ever act again. I have so many wonderful memories but those days are over."

Connery has been lying low in the recent months following surgery to his shoulder-but insists he's on the mend and will spend his birthday with his wife Micheline and 15 loved ones at his home in the Bahamas.

The Hollywood legend that starred in such memorable movies as The Man Who Would Be King, Marnie, A Bridge Too Far, Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade, The Hunt for Red October, Time Bandits and The Untouchables (for which he won his best supporting actor Oscar in 1988 as old cop Jim Malone,) revealed which of his films he enjoyed the most.

"Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade," he said.

"I was working with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas. The teamwork was special. It was a great adventure and Harrison Ford and Denholm Elliot were wonderful actors. I had so much fun."

His worst film? Meteor, an early 1970s sci-fi thriller about an asteroid on a collision course with Earth which co-starred Natalie Wood.

"It's probably top of my worst films list. It just bombed," Connery said.
"It had a great director, it had good actors including Karl Malden but the special effects were a bit limited.

The actor who became world-famous playing British Secret Agent James Bond, also revealed his favorite Bond movie.

"From Russia With Love was my absolute favorite.
"The story was intriguing and the locations were intriguing. It was an international movie in every sense of the word."

Connery's most recent project, an 85-minute animated film called Sir Billi,is about an eccentric veterinarian (voiced by Connery) heroic adventures saving odd and unusual animals. Sir Sean says he's excited to see the finished project.

For now the Oscar-winning actor says he's enjoying life, swimming every day and trying to get his golf swing working again.
