According to KOMO Radio 97.3-FM Seahawks linebacker Leroy Hill has been released Friday morning on $150,000 bail stemming from his arrest Tuesday on alleged assault and imprisonment charges. Hill has not yet been charged as the investigation is ongoing.
This time, according to court records, Hill allegedly assaulted a 26 year old woman who identified him to police as her boyfriend. Per the alleged victim, Hill threw her across the room by her wrists and then stood on her chest and head, making it difficult to breathe. She told officers she “thought she was going to die.” All of this allegedly occurred when the girlfriend was unable to find a set of keys and a disagreement ensued.
Officers investigating the incident have concluded, according to the Seattle Times, that Hill did indeed prevent the alleged victim from leaving the house when she desired to do so.
When interviewed by officers, Hill said he was the one who had been assaulted out of jealousy. He said that he had been scratched and struck with a small wooden rod.
Hill, an unrestricted free agent this off-season, has played an important role in the success of the highly ranked Seattle defense. Whether this incident will impact the Seahawks desire to re-sign Hill is unknown at this time.
This is only the latest of several law enforcement events that Hill (30) has been become involved with over the years. Previous charges and arrests include drug arrests in his native Atlanta as well as drug and assault charges here in Washington.
