The Hawks finished off an amazing season on Sunday with a 43-8 win over the Broncos to win the Super Bowl! And now, they are bringing home the title, the trophy and their rings to celebrate with the 12th man: all thousands and thousands of them!

Don’t miss this opportunity for your family to join in the excitement of the Seahawks celebratory parade on Wednesday, Feb. 4.The route information has been released with the procession starting at 11 a.m. on Fourth Avenue (south of Denny Way) continuing down Fourth to CenturyLink Field. The parade is expected to reach the stadium around 1:30 p.m. where the celebrating will continue.

The 12th man phenomena has consumed more than Seattle and the Puget Sound area, a fact that has not been missed by the team. In his post-Super Bowl news conference, coach Pete Carroll joke about closing schools Wednesday to allow all their younger fans to join in the celebration:

"There’s no fan base that deserves this more. Nobody has worked harder at supporting their team with more passion and love and spirit than ours. Yeah, let’s shut down the darn schools. Let’s have a darn celebration – peacefully and rightfully and in great fashion – but with great music and fun and great enjoyment and creating the memory that everybody deserves. I’m really looking forward to it.”

Safety concerns caused Seahawks officials to announce that there would be no outside access to the team when they arrive back home at Sea-Tac. Fans are instead encouraged to show their support at the parade celebration. Since the crowd is expected to be large and the parking limited, the city is hoping people will choose to use public transit or to carpool to the event

Seattle’s last sports title that warranted a parade was when the Supersonics beat the Washington Bullets to win the NBA title in 1979. Worth noting is that not one of this seasons Seahawk players had been born at that time.
