Seahawks 747 made is big debut just in time for the Super Bowl 2014 weekend. According to a Jan. 30 USA Today report, Boeing unveiled a Seattle Seahawks-themed Boeing 747 cargo jet featuring colors honoring the Super Bowl stars.
Announcing that the Seahawks 747 jet “commemorates the team's National Football Conference Championship and upcoming appearance in Super Bowl XLVIII,” Ray Conner, Boeing Commercial Airplanes CEO, issued a statement detailing Boeing’s excitement. “The Seahawks have been an inspiration to our entire community throughout this incredible season. We're honored that we could join together two Northwest icons, the Seahawks and the 747, for this special salute from the entire Boeing team.”
The Christian Science Monitor reports that the Boeing 747 freighter features the “team logo and the Number 12 on the tail to salute the fans.” After its rollout on Wednesday, it flew to Boeing Field in Seattle and then continued with a 12 pattern flight over Washington State.
All the Super Bowl 2014 excitement is slated to reach its maximum on Sunday, Feb. 2 when the Seahawks face off against the Denver Broncos at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
