As you have all heard by now, the "Sea-to-Sea Bike Tour: Cycling to End Poverty " made its way through the Capitol Region yesterday stopping in East Greenbush. The following report is by Cameron J. Castan:
"Greeters gathered Wednesday in the parking lot of the Capital Region YMCA, cheering on bicyclists riding in, one by one, reaching another checkpoint on what for many of them is a nine-week, 3,900-mile tour across the United States and Canada.
For almost three years, the Sea to Sea: Cycling to End Poverty bike tour, hosted by the Christian Reformed Church, has raised millions of dollars for poverty-related charities.
The tour raises money for both local and international charities and relies on donations from riders' individual sponsors as well as donations from larger ministries such as World Renew and Partners Worldwide."
