A sea snail in a boy's knee, that's what one mother found when trying to cleanse a wound that blew up her son's knee to the size of an orange. The sea snail egg must have gotten inside the child's flesh when he skinned his knee while away on vacation. Apparently the egg hatched and the 4-year-old was a human incubator for this snail.
According to Digital Spy on Aug. 17, a week had past since that “boo-boo” first occurred and the knee was red, swollen and hot to the touch, said the Orange County, California mom. Little Paul Franklin's knee looked as if it could be infected.
The snail egg hatched and grew, so along with it's growth the boys knee got bigger and bigger. When his mom saw something black inside the wound she squeezed it and out popped what she thought was a black rock.
She put the rock on a paper towel and notced it had a swirl in it like a shell. That's when she realized that the rock was actually a sea snail and the thought of it hatching and growing in her son's knee didn't make her quiver, it made her laugh, according to Sky News.
The snail is now part of their family and it lives in the family's aquarium. They've named the little guy Turbo.
