On Thursday February 6, 2014 GLBD Conference Reconnecting Events, hosted by American Indian Health and Family Services, will be presenting a screening of the film Ilarion Merculieff 's "The Womb at The Center of the Universe" a press release issued this evening said.
The Teaching in the film comes through Ilarion (Larry) Merculieff, a
"A visionary leader, advocate and educator, Larry has been serving indigenous peoples and communities for over 35 years, including being the first Native commissioner of the Alaska Department of Commerce and Economic Development, chair of the Indigenous Knowledge sessions of the Global Summit of Indigenous Peoples on Climate Change, and co-founder of the Indigenous Peoples’ Council for Marine Mammals."
The event is scheduled to be held from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm at 4880 Lawndale Street in Southwest Detroit. This is also the location of the AIHFS Clinic.
This will be followed by a discussion and communal meal. Attendees are asked to bring food to share and their feast bundles (own plate, utensils, and cup).
