'Screen Actors Guild ': Dick Van Dyke to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award

At tonight's Screen Actor's Guild Awards, Carl Reiner and Alec Baldwin will present the SAG 49th Life Achievement Award to Dick Van Dyke at the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, executive producer and director Jeff Margolis announced today.
SAG-AFTRA is honoring Van Dyke for his career achievement and humanitarian accomplishments. Van Dyke's co-star Mary Tyler Moore was presented the Lifetime Achievement Award the year before from Van Dyke.

Reiner and Van Dyke worked together on “The Dick Van Dyke Show,” which Reiner created, based on his experiences as a comedy writer, and in which he co-starred as producer, Alan Brady.

The critically acclaimed sitcom earned a number of awards throughout its five year run, including four Outstanding Comedy Series Emmy Awards and three Emmy Awards for Van Dyke for Outstanding actor in a Comedy.

The 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will air live on TNT and TBS on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at 8 p.m. (ET)/5 p.m. (PT) from the Shrine Exposition Center in Los Angeles. An encore prime time telecast will begin immediately following on TNT at 10 p.m. (ET)/7 p.m. (PT).
