Today, SFE has your latest Scream 4 news—and a special announcement from Paranormal Investigator Dean ‘Midas’ Maynard.
Scream_Panico revealed four new images from the film via Twitter yesterday. The photos feature the following pairings: Neve Campbell & Emma Roberts, Nico Tortorella & Emma Roberts and Rory Culkin & Hayden Panettiere. There is also a solo shot of Courteney Cox at the Stab-A-Thon party. (You can view them in the slideshow.)
Also of note: a fourth TV spot for the film has debuted. (View it in the sidebar.)
Meanwhile, Scream 4 is featured in the current issue of Fangoria (#302), and the magazine’s web site is now offering “terrifying tidbits” to entice readers to head out to the newsstand and pick it up. Here’s an excerpt (in which Neve Campbell explains her return):
“They came to me, it must have been a year and a half ago or so, or maybe even more than that,” Campbell recalls. “It took me about seven months to make the decision to do the film. I was a little apprehensive and unsure whether it was something worth going back to. I didn’t know that audiences would want to revisit it, but when the rumors went out about the possibility of the film, it was amazing what happened on the Internet with all the buzz, and then all my friends said I had to do it [laughs]. Inevitably, what it came down to was Kevin Williamson approaching me with the idea and giving me his pitch, and I realized it was quite intelligent and could be a lot of fun to make.”
And for those of you who haven’t heard, The Weinstein Company has announced the creation of TWC Games—a venture that could potentially bring Scream to a game system near you. Here’s an excerpt from the press release:
The Weinstein Company (TWC) announced today a new initiative in the video game space by launching TWC Games. The TWC Games label will utilize The Weinstein Company and Dimension Films' strong and recognizable properties, and work with external partners to develop and publish video games for mobile, social, and console platforms. Properties in The Weinstein Company and Dimension Films catalogue include SCREAM, HELLRAISER, HALLOWEEN, SCARY MOVIE, and CHILDREN OF THE CORN, among many others.
TWC CO-CHAIRMAN BOB WEINSTEIN EXPRESSED EXCITEMENT ABOUT THE NEW INITIATIVE. “The video game marketplace is changing at such a rapid rate. With all of the digital platforms, there are so many opportunities to broaden our audience with compelling, high quality, cost-efficient, video game entertainment.”

Special announcement:
On Friday, April 8, top UK Reality TV Predictor & Paranormal Investigator Dean ‘Midas’ Maynard will be hosting a ghost hunt to benefit the Alzheimer’s Society.
The event will be held at the “very haunted” Manor House Hotel in West Auckland, England—a grade one listed building that stands upon foundations which date back to the 12th Century. The property is steeped in history and is reputed to have been Henry VIII’s hunting lodge.
Dean is a big fan of the Scream films, and organized the event to coincide with the theatrical release of Scream 4.
The event will run like a ghost hunt mixed with a murder mystery—with Ghost Face as the prime suspect!
Says Dean, “As soon as I announced the event, the tickets went straight away; the manor is spooky enough without having to contemplate Ghostface hiding in the shadows.”
He continues, "I am hoping the event will raise loads of money for the Alzheimer’s Society as a good friends mother of mine has been sadly affected by this disease"
"Can I also thank John Valeri from Scream Franchise Examiner for supporting this event and giving it a feature, I am an avid reader of his fantastic blog, so this is a huge honour"
The honor is all ours, Dean!
You can visit Dean ‘Midas’ Maynard’s web site here.
Those who wish to support the Alzheimer’s Society can do so by making a donation here.
Be sure to view a promotional flyer for the event in our slideshow.
