Today, Scream Franchise Examiner has your Scream 4 update.

The ever-radiant Neve Campbell was in attendance at the Friars Club Roast of Quentin Tarantino on Wednesday night. When USMagazine.com caught up with the actress outside the New York Hilton and Towers, she mentioned that she’s “always doing great” and noted that her goal for the holiday season is “spending time with my family and friends.” She also expressed her excitement for the impending release of Scream 4: “I’m really looking forward to that this year.” (Don’t get too excited—Christmas did not come early. The film is still scheduled to open on April 15 of next year...)

Meanwhile, the creators of Still Screaming: The Ultimate Scary Movie Retrospective have revealed that Campbell will be a participant in the upcoming documentary by unveiling a picture of her on their official Facebook page Wednesday afternoon. (See image above.)

In other news, Jamie Kennedy recently spoke to AskMen.com. In the interview, everybody’s favorite movie geek offered what amounts to a tiny little tease. Here’s the brief exchange:

Can we expect to see you in Scream 4?

JK: I can’t tell you that! You’ll have to watch and find out!

That’s a far cry from what he said back in July. (If Randy does resurface, we’re guessing it’ll be through Skype. Just kidding…)

Finally, super-fan Nate Ragon and his discerning eyes caught what appears to be an unintentional sneak peek at NECA’s upcoming Ghost Face action figure. In an image revealed through the manufacturer’s Twitter feed promoting their upcoming Predator figure, GF can be seen laid out on a table in the background. Get out your magnifying glass and view it here.

And for those of you who might be feeling nostalgic, our friends at Scream-Trilogy.net took a look back at Scream 2 yesterday, revealing the inside story of Sarah Michelle Gellar’s cut scene:

While Scream was a comparatively intimate ensemble film, Scream 2 opened the story up to the considerably larger world of college. This required characters to be juggled to maintain focus, such as Cici (Sarah Michelle Gellar) who was to have an introductory scene which showed her conversing with fellow sorority girls Lois & Murphy.

However when the Randy/Mickey classroom scene was required to be reshot, Cici was dropped into the revamped scene, arguably a better introduction for the character. Two birds, one stone. The aftereffect of this meant that the sorority girl sequence was now redundant, and was removed accordingly.

They also have an excerpt of that scene from Kevin Williamson’s shooting script, which you can see here.

TGIF, my fellow Screamers!
