Scrapbook on a budget

scrapbook

I have several scrapbooks! I have a yearly scrapbook that I keep throughout each year. Then, I keep a Christmas scrapbook as well! In it, I keep pictures from Christmas only. Here are some great tips to help you scrapbook on a budget!

Do you have tons of pictures you have taken over the years that are stuffed into shoe boxes? Do you have ticket stubs and programs in a pile taking up space on your bookshelf? I know when people think of putting together a scrapbook, they think "cha ching"... $$$$. But, there is a way to keep your pictures and collected items together in an economical way. Let me share with you how!

  • Purchase a three-ring photo album from your local craft store.

I know there are companies that sell books specifically made for scrap booking and they can easily run $20-$30. Remember those 3 ring photo albums with the clean clingy pages? That is what I use! They run about $4-$7, depending on where you live. I have gotten some on sale for $2!!

  • Construction paper anyone?

I'm sure you see all of the "scrapbook" paper that is sold at the craft store. Actually, they are a decent price. You can go for that if you want to or maybe for a special Holiday page. But, a package of construction paper will only cost about $4-$5 for a thick package. If you cut the paper into shapes to fit around your pictures, it actually looks very professional!

  • All you need are scissors, glue tabs and some stickers!

We all have scissors. They do sell special scissors made for scrap booking. The regular ones and the ones with the pretty edges. But, if you are on a budget any pair will do. You can cut your pictures into shapes and cut paper to match. If you layer them together, it looks great!

I do recommend glue tabs to hold your items in place, but they only cost about $2 per box. You could use a glue stick, but the tabs really do hold better.

Stickers go on sale often for $1 per pack at the craft store. I bet if you keep your eyes open, you can get them for less! If you have children, use some of their stickers!

  • You can also journal on your pages!

scrapbookJournaling creates a special touch to your scrapbook pages. It allows for you to keep the viewer up to date on what was happening in the pictures.

With some imagination, you can create some beautiful pages with just these items!
You can even do a search online for some ideas!
Happy Scrapping!
