The 2013 BSA Blue and Gold banquet of Pack 42 held at Little Flower Parish Church in North Canton this chilly evening was a spectacle to behold. The Blue and Gold decorations shined, the cakes awaited to be devoured. The food smelled great, and looked even better awaiting to feed hungry scout bellies.
The awards were given to each group completing their requirements for moving on, and earning their badges that will soon adorn their uniforms.
There was also the Crossover ceremony for the Webloes. Signifying their progression into Boy Scouts after four years of hard work, many overnighters, cookouts, meetings, camping trips, and just plain fun. As each crossed over the bridge parents remembered the hard work, dedication, and sacrifice that went into getting them to each event, so this was a great achievement on their part too!
And not to be forgotten, lest not anytime soon, was the entertainment. You see this evening everyone was blessed with a group of musicians. Not just any group mind you, but the leader of this group was himself in fact a former Scout, Elec Simon, a member of STOMP!
This was a performance that rocked! He took us on a musical journey around the globe with varying styles, and beats. And he shared what's important to his heart, Keep going, we will survive.
Winding down our musical journey he invited the scouts, siblings and parents, and leaders to join him and the band banging and drumming on the buckets and percussion instruments in a thunderous culmination that capped off the evening. Truly an amazing night.
