Scotty McCreery, Taylor Swift help CMA Fest fare well in TV ratings

The ratings for Sunday night are a bit scattered in some networks courtesy of sports, but we can at least say something for sure based on ABC's ratings -- people love tuning in to country music.

Overall, the 2011 CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock special (which was filmed earlier this year) did fairly well. Although its 18-49 rating of 1.6 was down slightly versus last year, the overall viewer count was up almost a million. (We may be able to attribute this to a good many 12-18 year-olds tuning in to watch the likes of "American Idol" champ Scotty McCreery and superstar Taylor Swift perform.)

Elsewhere, it was not exactly good news for the Fox sketch comedy show "In the Flow with Affion Crockett." While it was not given much of a chance airing after a repeat block on Sunday nights, it still didn't average 2.5 million viewers for the hour as a whole. (The network is clearly just burning the show off during the summer months.)
