On December 10, Scotty McCreery returned to the stage where he won his first-ever music industry award, to pick up a second win from the American Country Awards. Scotty McCreery won the Artist of the Year: Breakthrough Artist award for 2013.

Scotty McCreery had taken some time to focus on his college studies, but the recent release of his third album “See You Tonight” has placed him back to the spotlight he enjoyed after winning season ten of American Idol.

The American Idol alum beat out some pretty popular competition as well. Lee Brice, who recently won a CMA, and also an ACA for “I Drive Your Truck” was among those nominated. Scotty McCreery also rose to the top over the super-talented Hunter Hayes, Randy Houser and Justin Moore.

Upon accepting the award, Scotty McCreery had this to say:

Wow, thank you so much. First and foremost I gotta thank my fans... country radio for giving me a chance. Thank everybody at William Moore, (my) management group, and my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
