NASHVILLE, Tenn., April 7, 2013 - Country newcomer Scotty McCreery hit the red carpet at the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in a dapper-inspired tuxedo. The 19-year-old croon was joined on the red carpet by Luke Bryan, Jake Owen, Jason Aldean, Eric Church and Hunter Hayes (among many others). Donning their favorite blazers, the leading men schmoozed for the cameras and greeted throngs of screaming fans.
Going into the evening, McCreery is slated to present one of the night's biggest awards, presumably the Best New Artist trophy. At last year's event, the young singer-songwriter walked away with this honor.
Bryan, Aldean, Church and Hayes are up for multiple awards. Bryan and Aldean will face off against each other in the Entertainer of the Year category, as well as in Male Vocalist of the Year against Church and Blake Shelton. Hayes scored a trio of nominations in Single, Song and Video of the Year -- all for his crossover smash "Wanted," off his self-titled Atlantic Records debut.
McCreery will be releasing his brand new single "See You Tonight" on Tuesday, April 9, and is expected to debut the song on American Idol on Thursday (April 11).
The 2013 ACM Awards kick off live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena at 8 p.m. EST. Co-hosted by Bryan and Shelton, the three-hour event will be broadcast on CBS. Check your local listings.
