As a travel writer and photographer, I often find myself catching flights 3-4 times a month. With all that time on the road, it really is essential for me to stay organized. Unfortunately, I find the TSA security check to be rather cumbersome, not to say a major irritant in my gallant attempt to stay organized while away from home. My two personal carry-ons are a camera backpack, already filled to the brim, and my laptop with an assortment of power cords and chargers for all my electrical equipment. When I need to access travel documents, credit cards, or money, it is always a laborious process of unbuckling my shoulder and waist straps, taking off my backpack, unzipping the main pouch, and then having to dig for the item I need. There must be a better way to travel!
Fortunately, my travel life changed for the better after I discovered the Scottevest for Travelers: I am now better organized and can carry all my essentials close to my heart – in my vest. And when I go through security, all I need to do is take off the vest, put it in a bin, get my full body scan, and then pick-up my vest on the other side. It really doesn’t get any easier or more secure than that.
When I first received my Women’s Travel Vest in my favorite universal color of black, I was a tad overwhelmed with the 17 pockets and compartments. After all, I envisioned looking like the Pillsbury Doughboy’s sister if I should use all those pockets for things like a water bottle, keys, passport, cell phone, digital camera, sunglasses, and an iPad. But much to my surprise – and just like they advertise – I found the fit to be quite flattering without telltale bulges advertising my valuables. That’s probably because a lot of technology went into the design of the vest, including their famous Weight Management System™ and NoBulge™ Pockets.
Besides being lightweight, the vest is wrinkle, water and stain-resistant, so I don’t look like I’ve been sleeping in my vest, even though the truth of the matter is that I might have been. My trial “wearing of the vest” was on a recent trip to Sun Valley, Idaho and once I learned what each pocket contained, I found the vest to be extremely helpful in my taking notes, photos, and tweeting while on site. My only suggestion on the technology is that I wish they could come up with a fabric that never needs washing. That would really make for easy traveling!
This writer was so ecstatic with her hosted Scottevest that she immediately bought the Women’s Kelly Jacket in red for an upcoming trip to Bhutan and Nepal.
