Turner Scott Motorsports (formerly Turner Motorsports) announced on Tuesday that Scott Zipadelli has been hired to serve as crew chief for driver Justin Allgaier and the No. 31 Chevrolet team in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. He replaces Jimmy Elledge.

"I'm very confident in our decision to bring Scott on board as Justin's crew chief," Turner Scott Motorsports co-owner Steve Turner said. "He's a very talented guy with a lot of experience in the Nationwide Series, so I think he's going to bring a lot of know-how to this program."

Zipadelli has been a Nationwide Series crew chief in 190 races. During that time, he's played a role in one race win, 12 top-five finishes and 47 top-10s.He recently worked at RAB Racing, guiding Boris Said to victory lane in 2010 at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal.

"I've very excited about the opportunity to join Turner Scott Motorsports, especially having teammates to collaborate with," Zipadelli said. "I'm definitely looking forward to working with Justin. I've paid a lot of attention to his progress and skill level over the years. I think he's very talented and that our personalities will complement each other well."

Driving the No. 31 in 2012, Allgaier finished sixth in the Nationwide Series driver points standings. In 33 races, he posted one win, six top-fives and 19 top-10 finishes.

"Our Nationwide program just keeps getting better, and we have high expectations for this coming season," Turner said. "We have everything we need to win races and get Justin onto that championship stage in 2013, and Scott's going to be the guy to lead us there."
