Scott Sterling found dead: Drug overdose suspected

Scott Sterling was found dead in his Malibu home on Jan. 1. The son of LA Clippers' owner, Donald Sterling, may have overdosed on drugs. According to the New York Daily News, Sterling was found by police who arrived at his home around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The initial report suggests that Sterling's death was an accident. A toxicology report will determine whether or not drugs were in his system.

It is unknown who called the police, but friends and family of Scott say that they hadn't seen him in days. Police do not suspect any foul play and, so far, suicide hasn't been mentioned.

Scott Sterling was found dead on New Year's Day. The 32-year-old has been in trouble before but not on a regular basis. In 1999, Sterling shot a friend of his but claimed "self-defense" and was not prosecuted. He was just 19-years-old at the time of that incident. Since then, Scott didn't find his name in the headlines and the public went about their business, not looking at him twice.

Naturally, condolences have been flooding in for Scott's family. His father, Donald, has not released a statement yet. It is unknown if Scott had a drug and/or alcohol problem.

Although Scott Sterling was found dead at his home, there are a lot of questions to be answered.
