If Scotch is your spirit of choice, this is a dinner/tasting you won't want to miss out on.

McMenamin's Kennedy School, 5736 NE 33d Avenue, Portland, will put you back in the classroom the way classrooms should be with a special Scotch Dinner on Friday, October 29th.

Very Special Guest Martin Daraz, Whisky Guild Ambassador of the Year Award Winner 2008-09, will be on hand to lead you through the scotches and regale you with whisky lore galore.

The dinner part of the dinner will be provided by McMenamins. The Scotch part of the dinner will be provided by:

Famous Grouse

Highland Park 12 Year Old Single Malt

Highland Park 15 Year Old Single Malt

The Macallan 12 Year Old Single Malt

The Macallan 18 Year Old Single Malt

Famous Grouse is one of the most robust of the blended scotches and has its own devoted followers.

In the Single Malt category both Highland Park, an Orkney single malt, and The Macallan, a Speyside single malt, are considered some of the finest Scotland has to offer, and an opportunity not only to compare the two, but also to enjoy long-aged versions of each, is a significant treat for the connoisseur.

For an added treat, book a room at the Kennedy School. Hey, when's the last time you overnighted at an elementary school?

Reservations for the Scotch Dinner are required. $65 per person.
