Scorpio – October 23 – November 23
A powerful sign, Scorpio represents mystery, sex and death, regeneration and fecundation. It is a fertile water sign and is also fixed.
Water signs have a certain flow, which is what ”water” sign usually indicates. However, with Scorpio also being a fixed sign, it isn’t as flexible as say the water sign of Cancer, for example. Creativity is often expressed more than the physical libido that Scorpios are known for. Somewhat resistant to change, Scorpio flows best when things aren’t too changeable.
More descriptions tell of strong will power, tenacity, and excess of energy, sensual leanings, ruthlessness, and desire for power.
Desire is a strong facet of the Scorpio nature, which goes hand in hand with the ruthless factor. Getting from point A to point B springs forth due to blinders that are created by the Scorpio’s desires. Sexually charged Scorpios are good at seduction, too.
Represented by two planets, Mars and Pluto, the power and dominance factor is amplified. Mars is the planet of aggression, and mysterious Pluto has always been associated with the power of the subconscious.
Scorpios are often known to be secretive and suspicious. Sometimes referred to as cynical, conservative may be a better word to use to describe this enigmatic sign.
Scorpio is mostly recognized by its namesake, but it is also represented by the Eagle or the Phoenix. A Phoenix rises up from its own ashes and regenerates. This trait is associated with the usual toughness and tenacity that comes along with being Scorpio. If you cut off a scorpion’s tail, it simply grows a new one.
Famous people of the sign of Scorpio are Trotsky, Cellini, Marie Curie, Dostoevsky, and Picasso. More folks with strong Scorpio influence are Castro, Mata Harie, Freud (everything about sex and subconscious), Rembrandt, J. Edgar Hoover, Keats, Marilyn Monroe, and Machiavelli.
Again, the whole chart is needed to know the strong suit of a Scorpio. Looking at the above famous people shows many ways that Scorpio characteristics manifest.
