If you have kids, then you know how much money you can spend on clothes, shoes, toys, furniture, etc--the list is never ending. Want to know how to save a fortune on clothes, toys, books, shoes, and more? I go to a fantastic local consignment event called Lolliposh.
Lolliposh is a seasonal kids consignment event held a few times a year in Sunrise, Florida. They offer the public the opportunity to buy and sell both brand new and gently used boutique and brand name clothing, toys, furniture and accessories for babies and kids.
Their next fall sale is coming up this week, October 12-14, 2012.
At Lolliposh, only the highest quality brands are accepted and sold, including Gymboree, The Children’s Place, Guess, Old Navy, Gap/Baby Gap, Kenneth Cole, Ralph Lauren, Limited Too, Baby Lulu, Zara and much more!
Personally, I don't care about "brand names" although I admit, I'm addicted to Gymboree's cute clothes--I know some people do--I'm just interested in getting discounts on things I need for my daughter. And boy, will you ever get the discounts and deals at Lolliposh!
Here are some tips about the event:
Tip #1: This is a fantastic place to find dress up clothes for your girls or Halloween costumes for a STEAL. You know your little princesses are going to put those dress-up clothes through the wringer, and there are tutus and gorgeous, nearly new costumes to be found for $5.00 and up. And Halloween is only a few weeks away! Grab the deals while you can find them. Your kids only wear their costumes for a few hours, so why pay a fortune?
Tip #2: If you volunteer for the event or you're a new mom-to-be, you get access to the private pre-sale held before the sale goes public. I'm all about that! I want to get my hands on the best stuff before anyone else does. LOL. (Hmmm...maybe I shouldn't have shared this option!)
Tip #3: You can also be a Consignor and sell your items there. You can earn up to 85% , which is WAY better than selling at a brick-and-mortar consignment store, who usually only offers only 60%. I've consigned several times now and it's always successful! They may be full for regular consignor slots by now, but check and see if you can sign up to consign for their restocking. Tip #4: Sunday you can save 50%! A lot of stuff will already be gone, but you'd be surprised what you can still score for just a few dollars a piece. Anything marked "REDUCE" on the tags will automatically go to half price during their sale on Sunday.
Lolliposh is absolutely the best place I've found to get clothing for babies and toddlers--but I'll warn you, you can spend hours just going through the clothes! And you can go crazy with it there are so many cute outfits. I know I always do.
For years now, I've saved a fortune on clothes and shoes for my daughter, not to mention found such beautiful things--and some clothes still had the tags on them. Last sale, I snagged about 10 brand-new Gymboree outfits for about $15.00 each (one of my favorite brands but that I find too expensive to buy in the store most of the time).
Here are some other items I've saved BIG on:
•A Halloween costume for my daughter for $10.00
•A swing for our baby for about $40.00
•A rocking horse for $15.00
•a Graco Pack n Play with bassinet for about $45.00
•A Fisher-Price Dora the Explorer Power Wheels Jeep for $100 (in near mint condition!) - new this would cost nearly $300
•I also treated myself to an awesome $40.00 Diaper Bag for me (never used, tags still on) for $10.00
•Some fantastic children's books (like Miss Spider' s Tea Party) for only a couple of dollars each.
