After the sun began to fall behind the Rocky Mountains, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science rocked the night away. Attendees to this month’s Science Lounge were not quite sure they were in the right place when they were greeted by the sound of classic rock echoing through the hallways. Guests found themselves rocking the night way to the sounds of the band Mid-life Crisis while being immersed in geology made fascinating by a displays and a presentation in the IMAX Theater. Guests to this event enjoyed hours d’ oeuvres and cocktails while learning about how diamonds and other precious stones are formed and discovered. One of the highlights of the evening was soaking up the beauty of City Park and Downtown Denver from the Anschutz Family Sky Terrace. After an evening filled with cocktails, fun and friends, people left with energy and excitement after they realized that science was actually cool.
‘Where in the World’ will be the theme of September’s The Science Lounge to take place Thursday night Sep 19. Play detective and follow clues that will lead you on a global chase to find the loot and catch the crook. The next Science Lounge will be held Thursday, August 15 and the fun continues with friends, cocktails, and learning with their theme Science on the Rocks. Grab a date, grab a friend, but most of all, and bring in eager open eyes that are ready for a learning experience they won’t forget. Another treat to look forward to is the MythBusters: The Explosive Exhibition. Starting October 11 visitors will become their own MythBuster and have the chance to test theories and play with hands-on experiments and see live MythBusting demonstrations.
