'Science Guy' Bill Nye confuses South Pole with North in global warming debate

During a debate on climate change conducted during Sunday's edition of "Meet The Press," Bill Nye, known as "The Science Guy," seemed to have his poles a bit confused, holding a picture of the Arctic while discussing the Antarctic, Climate Depot reported.

"Would you say that the Antarctic has less ice than it used to?" he asked Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., while holding a picture of the Arctic.

Blackburn didn't get a chance to answer the question as David Gregory suddenly moved the discussion to another topic.

But Climate Depot answered the question with a graphic showing the Antarctic is on track to have the highest minimum in the modern satellite era.

As of Feb. 7, 2014, the Antarctic Sea Ice Extent was 904,000 square kilometers above the 1981-2010 mean and 220,000 square kilometers above 2008.

Although placed in the role of moderator, Gregory clearly sided with Nye, interrupting Blackburn whenever he could and implying that storms like Hurricane Sandy are the direct result of global warming.

Gregory, however, did observe that global warming is last on the list of voter concerns.

The far-left Mother Jones completely missed the gaffe, claiming that Nye "is getting good" at debating the issue.

But global warming skeptic Pierre Gosselin disagreed.

"Nye cherry-picking the single data-point of September 2013 at the single location of the Arctic is not a persuasive argument – never mind him using the wrong chart," he wrote.

"Finally, I’ve never seen an issue with so much consensus be so hotly disputed. Why is that so? It is because, obviously, the claimed climate consensus is a complete myth," he added.
