Sci-Fi and fantasy fans await Myths and Legends Con

Attention all Denver area sci-fi and fantasy fans. The second annual Myths and Legends Convention is around the corner. Are you ready? This shiny weekend long party is set for Aug 8-10, 2014, and will take place at the Tivoli Student Union Building in Downtown Denver. What makes this event unique is that it focuses on a handful of fandoms, and for Doctor Who and Joss Whedon fans, this convention is really something special. According to organizer Nikki Ebright, Myths and Legends is a new convention for the fandoms that don’t really have a home in the Rocky Mountain region. This cozy get together will focus on all the sci-fi and fantasy goodness such as Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Firefly, Buffy, Lord of the Rings, My Little Pony, and added this year, Game of Thrones.

Just imagine the cosplay possibilities with layer cake dresses, shiny captains, doctors, vampire slayers, wizards, and maybe a Jon Snow or two. There will be panel rooms where fans can discuss the many facets of the various fandoms, interactive all-ages activities, as well as a gaming room. Last year there was a Dr. Horrible’ s Sing-A-Long Blog/Once More With Feeling shadowcast, a Browncoat shindig, kilt blowing, and a Wizard's Yule Ball. Attendees were also treated to a pirate buccaneer bash, kilt blowing, and the very popular singing group Pandora Celtica. As a matter of fact, one of the members of that band, Denver-based award winning Art Nouveau illustrator Chaz Kemp, designed last year’s convention artwork.

Myths and Legends Convention is an event for all ages that will not break the bank. An incredible value, the ticket prices are currently just $20 for adults and $10 for children. Tickets are available at Brown Paper Tickets. Come hang with old friends, meet new ones, and be sure to be a part of this unique and fun event.
