Based on the comic strip Peanuts by Charles M. Schulz the hit musical about his beloved canine, Snoopy, is presented by Children’s Theatre Group of Southern California and The Eclectic Company Theatre opening Friday, March 2, 2012. Book is by Charles M. Schulz Creative Associates, Warren Lockhart, Arthur Whitelaw and Michael L. Grace; lyrics are by Hal Hackady and music is by Larry Grossman the show is produced by Sherry Lynn and Robert Briscoe Evans.
Kay Cole directs the cast which includes (in alphabetical order): Major Curda, Lucy Gilbert, Addison Bouquet, Jack O’Dea, Ava Penner, Noah Meyers and Mikaela Zelinger.
Several seasons ago, Children’s Theatre Group of Southern California presented You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, the first of the two musicals derived from the popular comic strip Peanuts. Now, they are presenting the follow-up, Snoopy--who happens to be Charlie Brown’s dog. In addition to Charlie Brown and Snoopy, favorite characters Linus, Lucy, Sally, Peppermint Patty and Woodstock are part of the fun
Snoopy’s the great American writer, he’s the canine companion to Linus waiting for The Great Pumpkin, he watches clouds with the kids, he ultimately receives his appointment as The Head Beagle. In short, he’s live on stage just as remembered from the Peanuts comic strip stories.
