A student has been taken into custody after wounding 2 students. One student, who is in critical condition has been airlifted to a nearby hospital, while the other student refused treatment because his wounds were not severe. Taft Union High School, a small town of 7,000 and 30 miles southwest of Bakersfield, CA has 43 security cameras and employs a full time resource 'security' office. It is not clear if that officer carries a weapon, however a teacher and administrator stopped the shooting by calming down the angry student. The student walked in a science class and yelled a students name before shooting that student in the chest with a 12-gauge shot gun which was recovered. A teacher also suffered a minor pelot wound to the head. The suspected student is now in custody. A press conference is in the making.
