On Dec. 13, 9 News reported that at least two people have been injured in what police are calling an "active shooting situation" at Arapahoe High School, located in Centennial, Colo.

There is not much information being released to the public about the school shooting. According to the Denver Post, police responded to reports of gunshots being fired at the school. A shopping center across the street was packed with police cars and students who were evacuated.

A Subway manager said that the area is crowded with emergency vehicles but didn't know what exactly was going on at the school. A King Soopers employee also said that the shopping center was packed with students.

The Arapahoe High School shooting was confirmed by a dispatcher with the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office.

School shootings are becoming more common but experts as well as the general public don't have an exact answer as to why. People desperately want to understand why these school shootings are happening. While the answer may never be known, some Americans have come up with theories such as bullying, lack of discipline, the "entitlement generation" not being able to handle real life and violent tv shows, movies and video games.

This is a developing story and updates about the Arapahoe High School shooting will be posted as they are made available.
