School is back in session on Saturday, August 27th as Huntsville's Dixie Derby Girls Roller Derby team take the floor of the Von Braun Center South Hall in their last double-header feature of the season, School of Hard Blocks.
Pinky Tuscadero, Ebbin Flow, Femifist, the returning 5 Scar Jeneral and the rest of your Raging Rocket All-Stars will take on the Rollergirls of Southern Indiana (WFTDA ranked #25 in the North Central Region) while your rookie squad, the Rocket City Rollers, aim to avenge a tight loss against the Johnston, TN Little City Rollergirls from earlier this season.
Tickets are $10 in advance from www.dixiederbygirls.com, or $12 at the door. Doors open at 4PM, with the first bout starting at 5PM, and the 2nd starting at 7PM. Part of the proceeds from the ticket sales will benefit the Aids Action Coalition. Bring your Huntsville-Madison County Public Library card for $2 off admission at the door, or sign up on the spot for your free library card for the discount ticket.
This is the last home-VBC double header of the season, and your last chance to check out both Huntsville teams in action.
After the last game is over, join rollergirls from all the home and visiting teams for the official afterparty at the End Zone (1909 University Drive NW, Huntsville). Take a shot against your favorite player in the leg wrestling competitions, or share a beverage and tell them your favorite play of the game!
