A school aide in eastern Pennsylvania is about to lose her job because she took a nude photo of herself on her personal cell phone. Someone found the phone at a non-school event and sent the image to others. Within hours, hundreds of students from her school were buzzing about the photo, and parents were soon notified about the incident.
The teacher’s aide in question works at Bangor Area High School in Bangor, Pennsylvania. School officials do not believe the woman intentionally distributed the racy image to students. But regardless of the aide’s intentions, she is being pressured to resign from her position.
In fact, Bangor Area Superintendent John Reinhart says he will seek to terminate the six-year employee if she doesn’t resign. He says her ability to work with district youngsters has been compromised. She has not been at work for several days.
The woman’s name is not being released and Reinhart doesn’t know if she has a lawyer.
Superintendent Reinhart is only adding insult to injury. The aide’s privacy was unquestionably violated, and I’m sure she is insanely humiliated by the situation. Firing her makes no sense since a nude photo does not indicate that she is less qualified to perform her job. The photo does not change her credibility or her work ethic. It is a little comical that the idea of a woman ever being nude makes people uncomfortable, but the fact of the matter is, we all have private parts, we are all naked at one point or another, and we all have sex. Does that change our ability to perform our jobs?
There are conflicting reports about the aide’s job status. The Associated Press reports that she resigned, while other news organizations claim that is not the case. I would suggest that the aide stand her ground, hire a good lawyer, and demand that she keep her job. Instead of focusing on educators that are under-qualified and lazy, we’re focusing on frivolous nude photo scandals. Let’s get back on track on get test scores up.

After seeing you guys discuss this on TYT and after reading the article there's only one conclusion possible. LET HER GO! I too hope that she decides to fight this to the end.
This whole thing is so screwed up. Never mind the kid who took her phone and sent the picture to all his buddies. There was a nude picture, EVERYBODY FREAK OUT!!!
"Her ability to work with district youngsters has been compromised." Gimme a f'ing break! How?! Has this guy ever seen another naked person in his life? We have to assume that he has been naked himself at some point. After all, we're all naked under the clothes we wear.
@Stephen: Look who's talking, aren't you making the same "mistake'
@Stephen Ana may have her stumbling points but she's far from dimwitted. How about instead firing off insults like a classic troll you make your own blog to give us all the benefit of your extensive jackassery?
Excellent commentary. And I do agree....stand your ground girl!
You guys summed it up. I agree 100%. I sure would like to see what comes out of Bangor's finest in catching the person who sent the pic out. Thanks again guys.
Stand your ground but it would be best if the aide worked in another area of the school district where they are not familiar with what happened here. The cell phone was found at a non-school event that started the incident. She should not be removed but placed in another building...too bad but taking nude photos on your cell phone leaving it unattended so other can pick it up was poor judgement.
You tell 'em, Ana! I agree 100%. Just because the students aren't going to be mature about the photos doesn't mean the school staff can't be.
hey I been watching tyt videos.... where is mrs robinson? (Ireland affair) kmon, it's too good, too good, you can't miss it, we want your comments
see u
Well my full belief is that the Police are not going to find the person simply because the town nor the school cares that her privacy was compromised. If I were here not only would I hire a lawyer but I'd read Pennsylvania Employment Laws and also notify the Labor Department that she is being fired for something completely outside of work, etc. I'm pretty sure to fire her over this is illegal, it has nothing to do with her work performance. I'd hire a private investigator to dig up some dirt on the superintendent. These days you gotta play hard ball if that's whats called for. I hope she keeps every letter and notifications sent by the Superintendent and whoever else is telling her to resign to be able to present to the Labor Department and also a good lawyer. I'm sure people know who originally sent it, the town just doesn't care. Personally I wanna see the photo, he he, that is just to judge if this is being blown out proportion...(yeah right)
she gets burgerlerized and u want 2 fire her u should b fired overeation as always .
So let me get this straight Ana, you defend this teachers aide when she causes a HUGE distraction at the school, yet you defend the nitwit school officials who suspend the student who went out of his way to be on time and keep his legal shotgun off school property by legally parking off campus. Typical liberal, you make no sense.
I would have to disagree, she should take the year off. Even though the teacher has not changed, her image has. I know students will not pay attention to their studies and will instead make fun of her. When we found our teacher's pic of her boyfriend we razed hell and didn't learn much for a few weeks. Yeah we were terrible and immature, but so are many high school kids. The kid's education is the first priority.
@law abiding citizen
I believe the reported facts in the case of the student with the shotgun was that he was in violation of a law prohibiting guns within a certain distance from the school. In other words his gun was still too close to the school(R U law abiding or not?). Had Columbine never happened he probably would've been fine - and I certainly hope things workout for him, because I think he was telling the truth. You have to start thinking rationally 'sir/maam' and not liberal this and conservative that. Either way I hardly see how this is comparable since the teacher was definitely not on school property dispensing nude pics. Someone else did so the real culprit is the person who sent the photos. Imagine if you walked into to work one day and got fired because someone sent the entire office your naked pic. Would you except and take your "just" punishment? I'm sure you wouldn't be filing unemployment either since it was your "conduct" that caused you to be fired. Right?
Got something to say?
