Scholz jams in Culver City and readies for Santa Monica (Photos)

Mary Scholz jammed yesterday (Sunday, Feb 24) in Los Angeles at Culver City's "Seventy 7 Lounge." She announced she has begun pre-production for her exciting new album, and she revealed that she will be in Santa Monica's Charleston on Sunday, March 3 as well.

There is much more news to come about Mary. Her upcoming "Santa Monica Charleston Koffeehouse" shining showcase comes on the heels of some recent remarkable shows there.

Among the great acts, Shani, back from the Sundance Film Festival, and also Allison Gray both recently graced this venue. Both talented singer-songwriters brought remarkable musical talent and deep dedication to their live musicianship.

Following her dynamic performance, Allison gracefully shared her thoughts with this reporter, doing so with endearing gratitude and modesty in describing and elaborating on the atmosphere as well as capturing the live experience:

"Playing at the Charleston was such a great experience. I could really feel the love from the audience. It felt great to share new music with them and to perform at such an artist friendly venue."

All these emerging artists, each with a genuine love of the connection that music forms with the audience, continue to play active roles in the growing community that is increasingly immersed in the local LA scene. At the same time, this scene links together online and in person in making global musical impact. This, in turn, forms an exponentially growing Santa Monica interconnected subset, as a scene of talented engaging songwriters in related circles is forming something special. So you can look forward to more great information on each artist in the near future.
