Actress, Amanda Hootman, has been chosen to be honored with the 2011 UFTA Education in Entertainment Scholarship on Monday, July 11, 2011. The award presentation will be changed slightly due to Hootman's inability to attend in person.
Hootman, who is from Fort Myers, will be "attending" by phone all the way from Guildford School of Acting in London, England.
UFTA stands for the United Film & Television Artists, a non-profit organization that supports the entertainment industry in Lee and Collier counties and surrounding areas, including even outside the United States, wherever there is interest.
UFTA's president, Al Quinn, will present the scholarship, over the phone verbally to winner, Amanda Hootman, while at the same time handing the check to her parents.
It will be approximately 1:00 a.m. in London at the time of the presentation, so Amanda will stay up late in order to 'receive' the award.
Amanda has been a UFTA member for years, and is finishing up her three years of studies at Guildford School of Acting in London, thus qualifying her for this scholarship, UFTA's first.
Congratulations to Amanda Hootman for two jobs well done - in winning the scholarship and on her upcoming graduation!
