The Hawks have had an up-and-down season, to say the least. After a five game winning streak, the Hawks lost their second straight game, 102-95, to the Phoenix Suns at Philips Arena.
Atlanta led at halftime by three points, but a 35-point outburst by Phoenix in the third quarter put the Suns in front for good. The win was Phoenix's fourth in a row as they pulled into a tie for the eighth and final playoff spot in the West with a 42-29 record. Eric Bledsoe led Phoenix with 20 points, while Goran Dragic added 19 and Channing Frye had 18.
Atlanta, meanwhile, still holds the eighth spot in the East...with a 31-38 record. Paul Millsap and DeMarre Carroll had 19 points apiece, while Jeff Teague and Lou Williams had 17 points apiece. Unfortunately, the Hawks shot just 41.7% from the floor while Phoenix made over 50% from the floor (and exactly 50% from long distance).
The Hawks' next game will come on Wednesday night against the Timberwolves in Minnesota. Tip-off is at 8 PM.
