Schenck defeats Dexter in PVC girls basketball championship game

Morgan Thompson scored 21 points to lead the Schenck Wolverines girls basketball team to a 64-55 victory over the Dexter Tigers in the girls basketball PVC championship game played at Penobscot Valley high school in Howland on Thursday evening.

Ashley Leavitt chipped in with 14 points for the Wolverines. Katie Stanley had 10, Olivia Lewis added nine.

Lexie Hoxie finished with four points. Katie-Lynn Michaud and Mackenzie Bell scored two points each.

Kristen Thompson also had two points. Thompson had a solid game rebounding and defensively.

Schenck will take on Jonesport-Beals in a class D quarterfinal at the Bangor Auditorium on Saturday, February 16th at 9 p.m. Click here for the full class D tourney schedule.

Lauren Crane led the Tigers with 14 points. Abbie Melvin added 11 points, Jordyn Bell also finished in double figures with 10 points.

Michaela White chipped in with nine points for the Tigers. Gabrielle Adam put in seven points, Alison Pease and Anna Ritland scored two points each.

Dexter will take on Sumner in a class C quarterfinal game on Tuesday, February 19th at 11 a.m. Click here for the full class C schedule.
