Brendan Schaub became the second semifinalist, joining Roy "Big Country" Nelson, with a knockout of Jon Madsen 100 seconds into the second round on The Ultimate Fighter Season 10, Episode 10.
Madsen won the first round by taking down Schaub twice with modified slams and keeping him controlled for the balance of the action. Schaub continually grabbed the fence, and no points were taken away, although coach Rashad Evans said in a clip he thought there should have been a deduction.
The second round was up for grabs when Schaub hit Madsen with a pair of straight rights, the second of which knocked out the wrestler and ended the fight.
Earlier in the episode, the controversy over the health and readiness of Matt Mitrione continued, as Mitrione gave mixed signals about the state of his head and his preparedness to take on James McSweeney in the quarterfinals.
The coaching staff wanted a decision from Mitrione immediately, with respect to giving a potential replacement reasonable time to prepare. The most likely contestant that would be chosen, Kimbo Slice, was revealed to have no cartilage left in his aching and swollen left knee.
Dr. Steve Sanders (perhaps the character from the original Beverly Hills 90210?) said the condition of the knee was similar to walking on pebbles without a shoe, because there was nothing left to protect bones from rubbing together. With fluid built up inside, it was increasing the already heightened sensitivity.
Kimbo, who later attempted to take an ice bath only to give comic relief to the other fighters, maintained that nothing would stop him if called up to fight, although he explained that the knee was not good.
The Coaches Challenge happened in this event, and it was 2-on-2 beach volleyball, with Mike Van Arsdale joined with Rashad, and Tiki Ghosn paired with Rampage Jackson.
Rampage and Tiki won the first set, with $10,000 on the line for the coach and $1,500 for the team members of the best-of-three-set winners. Rashad and Mike rallied to win the next two sets to take the money.
Rampage shook everyone's hand, including Rashad's, but of course it ended up in heated words between the coaches. Rampage asked his team members if they would have preferred either $1,500 or to see him knock out Rashad.
At that time, those who said they would prefer the knockout did not know that Rampage was retiring from MMA to pursue movies, so they should have taken the cash.

Do you think they will keep dangling the whole Kimbo return all season? It's getting kinda old. At this point, I couldn't care less if he returned.
somebody please encourage kimbo to have micro-fracture surgery and a long rehab, instead of sucking all the money and life out of him until he's a useless cripple
